It all started with Luna & Larry.

These books were inspired by two very special basset hounds and the memories, personalities, and little moments that made them unforgettable.

What began with a love for Luna and Larry grew into stories designed to bring their adventures to life for children and families through coloring, creativity, and imagination.

Made with love, one adventure at a time. ♥

Luna, a basset hound

Luna

My very first Basset Hound. I was gifted Luna when she was just a few months old, in 2017. She was my little twin in fur. She was loving, expressive, protective, funny, resilient, a little feisty and was always ready for a cuddle and a snack. She was the reason I fell in love with Bassets. Unfortunately in March of 2025, she was diagnosed with an aggressive case of Lymphoma. I was told I had two options, chemotherapy or make her comfortable at home. It was a no brainer that I would follow through with the six month chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately my sweet girl didn't make it through the six months and crossed the rainbow bridge on August 14, 2025. I was blessed to have her in my life for 8 years. Her love was unconditional and one I will never forget.

My sweet Larry. My first rescue. My old man. I really feel Larry and I were meant to find each other. When I rescued him back in 2022, I wasn't sure what to expect, now being the owner of two Basset Hounds. But Larry was definitely the calm Luna and I needed in our lives. He was gentle, loving, funny, and always in his own little world. He grew to love cuddles and loved hiding his toys from Luna and I. Larry was a fighter. When I first rescued him in 2022 he was heart worm positive and after treatment and medication he pulled through. Then on April 26, 2026, I noticed he wasn't acting like himself anymore. I rushed him to the vet and was told he had a tumor on his spleen. The vet explained how dangerous it is to perform a biopsy on those types of tumors therefor the only option was to treat it as cancer and undergo surgery. Unfortunately just two days later on April 28, 2026 my sweet boy crossed the rainbow bridge. Even though we shared only four years together, my Larry boy will always have a special place in my heart.

Felicia Echavarria is is the author and creator of the Luna & Larry Basset Adventures series, inspired by her beloved Basset Hounds, Luna and Larry. What began with two very special dogs and countless happy memories grew into a world of creativity, fun, and imagination that she hopes children and families can enjoy together.

A lifelong animal lover, Felicia has always loved stories, creating, coloring, art, and anything that brings a little more fun and imagination into everyday life. Through Luna and Larry, she combines those passions to create books that encourage children to color, imagine, explore, and, most importantly, have fun.

Luna and Larry may no longer be here, but their adventures continue to live on through the pages of every book.
